What is SAACOFP?

As the local chapter of the national Student Association of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (SA-ACOFP), our purpose is to establish and promote a general understanding of the scope of services rendered by the family physician through the provision of a wide variety of activities including: skills workshops, ranging from suture labs to IUD insertion workshops; lecture series on topics such as business in medicine, patient advocacy, and full-scope family medicine; and volunteer events designed to improve the health and well-being of the local community. Benefits of membership include: nationally-recognized leadership opportunities, scholarships, COMBANK discounts, access to additional Board Prep materials, & resources to assist in successful residency matching, including a preceptor directory (to set up audition rotations), a residency program finder, and recorded webcasts on topics such as the single accreditation system & navigation of residency applications.
