American College of Osteopathic Surgeons - Medical Student Section

The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons - Medical Student Section (ACOS-MSS) club is the local chapter of the national ACOS-MSS and is the official student section of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. The ACOS-MSS club provides extracurricular surgical training and education to further cultivate students’ intrigue of the surgical field and better prepare students for their surgical rotation in their third year and beyond. Activities include opportunities to practice surgical related skills such as suturing and tying techniques, gowning and gloving, scrubbing, and using sterile technique in the operating room. This club offers guidance regarding the pursuit of a surgical specialty through guest speaker lectures. Lastly, the club offers opportunity to attend biannual National Conferences allowing students to network, present research, and learn from Osteopathic Surgeons.
